Built from C50 high carbon steel, the axe heads are individually hand-forged. The drop forging process involves repeatedly shaping hot steel with tongs and a drop hammer. This steel offers a hardness of 53-56 HRC, making the axe heads durable and reliable for light splitting and cutting work.

Grade A American Hickory Handle

The handle is made from sustainably sourced grade A American hickory, finished with boiled linseed oil and sanded to 150 grit. This ensures a comfortable, smooth, and durable grip, ideal for any cutting task.

Durable Sheath and Protective Oil

All Helko Werk axes come with a vegetable-tanned premium leather sheath to protect the blade and head. The 1 oz bottle of Axe Guard protective oil helps maintain the steel and prevent rusting over time.
