Gransfors Bruk Wildlife Hatchet (415) with Ceramic Grinding Sharpening Stone (4034) - Bundle

This bundle from Sunny Vale's consists of two Gränsfors Bruk products: a WILDLIFE HATCHET and a CERAMIC GRINDING STONE.

The Gränsfors Bruk WILDLIFE HATCHET (p/n: 415) is a traditional scouting and camping axe. It features the same head as the Hand Hatchet but on a longer handle, lending the axe more power, particularly when felling trees. This makes it a practical choice for carrying in your rucksack when you need a small axe with ample power. The axe is capable of lopping off quite large branches or splitting small logs for the campfire. The shape of the sheath, which covers the edge and the top part of the poll, prevents the axe head from cutting into your rucksack. The WILDLIFE HATCHET comes sharp, with a protective leather sheath and a copy of "The Axe Book". Its specifications are: Length with handle: 13½" (35cm), Head weight: 1lb (0.45kg), Total weight: 1¾lb (0.8kg), and Cutting edge: 3" (75mm).

The Gränsfors Bruk CERAMIC GRINDING STONE (p/n: 4034) is a man-made sharpening stone with two grinding faces: a coarse side (180 grit) for repairing damage and heavy wear, and a fine side (600 grit) for sharpening. The ceramic composite makes the stone both durable and strong. In contrast to natural sandstone, a ceramic grinding stone can be given a more precise grain size. Its shape is round and flat with a bevelled edge to prevent chipping. The fine side is 2/3 of the thickness, as this side is usually used and worn down most. The stone is normally used with water but can be used dry. It comes in a protective rubber case, which also acts as a convenient holder during grinding/sharpening. The stone's specifications are: Diameter: 2.2" (57 mm), and Weight: 6.5 oz (160g).

PLEASE NOTE: The Gransfors 20-YEAR guarantee covers only the AXE HEAD against manufacturing defects. Handles are not covered under this guarantee unless it is apparent that there was a structural defect in the wood. In March 2017, Gransfors abandoned using the steel wedge in all their axes (except splitting range).
